Apparel advertising refers to the marketing of clothing articles. The adverts for apparel are largely published in magazines and newspapers and sometimes in the TV medium.
Print advertising usually feature models wearing the brand. Usually no text or very small text accompanies the advert. The focus is kept on the product. Apparel companies also run advertising campaigns promoting their collections for different seasons. Sometimes they name their collections to stand out from the crowd. The retail store Pantaloons advertises on television. The store adds a new collection every week and their "Fresh fashion" adverts attracts the attention of the viewer.
Designer clothing brands are not advertised on television. Designers cater to a specific stratum of the society and thus like to keep their adverts targeted towards them only. They do so by advertising in lifestyle, society magazines and fashion magazines.
